On September 16, 2025, the GREEN TECHBITE: Towards EU Market event featured its second keynote, “Thai Company Success Story in EU”, delivered by Ms. Siriluk Phumirat, CEO and founder of Greenrime GmbH. She shared her entrepreneurial journey in Green Technology and Sustainable Innovation in Europe, along with practical advice for Thai startups and SMEs seeking to expand into Green Economy Opportunities in Germany and the EU.
Greenrime GmbH is a Deep Tech and engineering company based in Düsseldorf, Germany, specializing in Energy System Automation, Green Fuels, and Greenhouse Gas Measurement. The company began by organizing academic conferences for the Thai community in Europe, aiming to build networks and connect Thai universities with European partners. This later evolved into technology and innovation services that address the demands of the green energy market.
Ms. Siriluk emphasized that her vision has always been to create impactful green solutions while strengthening the connection between Thailand and Europe in the field of innovation.
She emphasized the vast opportunities within the European market, driven by the Green Deal and Fit for 55 policies that foster clean energy and environmental innovation. Siriluk also highlighted the importance of developing Green Skills for Thailand’s workforce. “In the next five years, the skills our next generation will need are Green Skills,” she said. “We must prepare both human resources and knowledge in green energy to be ready for the European market.”
Greenrime GmbH’s projects include collaboration with the German Aerospace Center on Maritime Energy, producing Green Fuels for ships using biomass from Thailand. The company is also developing hydrogen research projects with international partners. These initiatives demonstrate Thailand’s potential to become a renewable energy partner for Europe and global organizations such as Airbus.
For Thai SMEs, Ms. Siriluk advised focusing on Collaboration and Compliance — building partnerships with European companies while ensuring CE Certification, ISO Standards, and EU Sustainability Requirements before entering the market. She also stressed the importance of cultural understanding: “If you prioritize sustainability and transparency, you will gain trust and become a more valuable partner.”
She further encouraged Thai entrepreneurs to participate in EU research funding programs such as Horizon Europe, which provide opportunities to build networks with leading companies, universities, and research institutions in Europe. This not only strengthens funding access but also enhances credibility. She concluded by reminding entrepreneurs that the journey may not be easy at first, but it offers invaluable opportunities for Thai businesses to access Green Economy Opportunities in Germany and the EU.
